It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere....

Welcome to our side blog project aiming to sketch out what we can remember regarding our trips to the various watering holes of Westchester County and surrounding areas.  We will try and keep our readers up on our travels to the area's excellent drinking establishments by posting reviews and specials where we can. 

Keep an eye on this space as I will try and keep a running list of the some of the better happy hour spots as well as a top list of our favorites. 

Current Top Ten Drink spots (July 2012)

1. Bar Taco, Port Chester - Awesome fresh margaritas and mojitos and great party vibe.  Don't miss a chance to sit on the deck!
2. Pour Cafe and Wine Bar, Mt. Kisco - Great selection of wines and other drinks. Anthony and James run the best wine bar in the county with one the top bourbon collections around.
3. Vintage 1891, Larchmont - Good selection of wines and has a fun staff, but crowd can be a bit stuffy.
4. Havana Central, Yonkers - Ten Cane Rum mojitos, enough said.
5. Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar - Their own spin on the classic margarita. Both the Lolita and Red Lulu margaritas should not be missed.
6. Captain Lawrence Brewing Company, Elmsford - Free samples of some of the best beers you can find.  Only $2 for a tasting glass but do not forget to tip your servers!
7. Brazen Fox, White Plains - Old reliable, good beer selection, well made drinks and a great back patio.
   
8. Half Moon, Dobbs Ferry - Drinks along the Hudson River, absolutely beautiful. 
9. Batonnage Wine Bar, Pleasantville -  Good selections of wines, seating area is just okay.
10. The Yard House, Yonkers - Yeah it is a chain, but its a chain with over 130 beers on tap.  Many good selections, a super sized bar and a full drink menu as well.

• Brazen Fox - Monday - Friday, 4pm to 8pm - 30 different drinks including a great Mai Tai.
• Havana Central - Monday - Friday, 3pm to 7pm - discounted drinks
• La Bella Havana - Monday - Friday, 4pm to 7pm - half price drinks. Fridays from 4pm to 6pm $25 gets you unlimited mojitos, an appetizer  and an entree!
